This program is not well designed for the true beginner (meaning you have never touched a blog in the past.) It is designed for a self-starter who enjoys weekly participation in a live group and who also enjoys self-paced online training via a library of training materials and video tutorials. If you are brand new to blogging, I recommend considering one of our blog mentoring packages below , which will help get you ready for the Become a Blogging Maniac Program.
ABOUT THE BECOME A BLOGGING MANIAC START UP PROGRAM
PLEASE NOTE: We will be using the WordPress self hosted (meaning the blog is hosted on your own domain) blogging tool for this course. You will need a WordPress blog hosted on your own domain. If you use another blogging tool such as Blogger or Typepad, you can still benefit from the program, but the bulk of our materials presented will focus on using WordPress.
If you are in need of a hosting company that easily installs WordPress using a one-click installation feature, please contact http://Hostgator.com or http://BlueHost.com.
If you currently have your own website, and you would like to manually install WordPress to your existing website, please visit this link for installation instructions:
If you want your blog to match the current look and feel of your website, you will need to hire your designer or contact Bea Fields at beafields@beafields.com for names of someone who can help you with this.

An outline of our weekly calls:
Week 1: Writing a marketing plan for your blog: During this class, we will be honing in on how to define all qualities of your target audience, how to choose keywords to pull them to your blog and how to write a true strategic plan for your blog so that it attracts hundreds of visitors each week.
Week 2: Choosing a template for your blog. There are thousands of WordPress templates on the internet, and choosing the right template, color scheme and layout can often be mind boggling. During this session, I will be navigating the best of the best template sites and discussing which templates work well with specific target audiences. As an example, if your target market is a tough executive leader, choosing a “pretty in pink” type template will more than likely drive them away unless you have a very specific reason for choosing an offbeat template.
Week 3: How to Write Compelling Blog Titles and Content to Attract Your Target Market. The internet is literally flooded with information. Because of this saturation, people are craving more and more information, but they want new, fresh content and something compelling to read and talk about to others. During this class, you will learn how to write titles with your target market and the search engines in mind. This is probably the most critical class offered, and you will definitely want to be on this call.
Week 4: Plug-Ins, Widgets and Extras. By using a WordPress blog on your own domain, there is honestly nothing a blog cannot do. Having said this, you will want to be very particular about the extra bells and whistles you use on your blog. Too much of a good thing can drive people away or can cause your blog to be sluggish. During this call, you will learn about the ten best plugins you will need so that your blog is fully optimized for the search engines and how to use widgets to get ready to market your blog.
Week 5: Turning Your Blog Into a Podcast. Using the voice and music is one of the most intimate approaches you can use on your blog. When people simply sit and listen, they only have your voice to connect with. By learning how to podcast, you can build a very strong bond with people who are either on an audio only class with you or who are listening to you speak into a microphone. There are multiple steps to creating a podcast, and this class is designed specifically to teach you each step of the podcasting process.
Week 6: Turning Your Blog Into a Video Blog or Portfolio. YouTube.com is one of the most highly ranked, highly visited sites on the internet. Why? Because people LOVE video. As a blogger, you are going to need your own YouTube Channel, and you will need to know how to add those videos to your blog by adding the code from the video or by using a plugin. During this class, you will learn about the equipment you will need to create a great looking video, how to add it to YouTube and then cross promote that video by adding it to your blog. (NOTE: Some people only use video on their blogs…no text or audio). During this class, you will also learn how to build a portfolio blog, which is great for graphic designers, web designers, photographers and artists. (NOTE: Like the video-only blogs, many artists use their blogs for photography or to display their artistic work without adding any text or audio. This approach can be beautifully done using a few plugins and a bit of knowledge about resizing photography using a free online service).
